Due to the economic impact healthcare facilities have in rural communities, the North Dakota AHEC has worked to engage community members and organizations to help recruit health professionals to work in their communities. Community members can help by providing housing assistance, mentoring a health professions student, and by doing what they can to make their community a friendly place for visitors.

Request a Visit by AHEC Staff
The job outlook for healthcare professions is growing all the time. If you would like to introduce your students to the many opportunities available to them in the future, North Dakota AHEC staff can visit your school to discuss careers in healthcare with students. Our patient simulator “Jack” can hit the road and allow students to learn to listen to heart, lung, and bowel sounds, as well as interact with patients. Students can play Health Career Bingo to learn about the many health professions, take apart various models, and ask numerous questions about the education, salary, and job outlook information on a wide array of careers in healthcare. Contact North Dakota AHEC to arrange a visit.
